Bent-Tree
is a small community nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Georgia. It's approximately 50 miles north of Atlanta. The gated community of Bent Tree spreads out across 3500 acres of rolling hills, rivers, streams, cliffs, coves and waterfalls. A 110-acre lake and an 18-hole golf course is located within Bent Tree, along with hiking trails, tennis courts, horseback riding, swimming pools, a family play area and restaurant. It's no wonder Bent Tree is called "mountain living at its best." Bent Tree is part of historical Pickens County. Some of the nearby attractions include the Historic Tate House Mansion and Gardens, the historic timber truss Woodbridge bridge, built in 1912, and Sharptop Arts Center. Bent Tree is also near the historic town of Talking Rock, a quaint 1800s village that features specialty shops, gift stores and antique shops. The Talking Rock Festival is held the 3rd weekend in October, and the Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum reflects the history and culture of early Appalachian residents.

Northeast Georgia has a four-season climate that is greatly influenced by the Appalachian Mountains. The climate here differs significantly from the rest of the state. Summers are warm and typically has lengthy spells of hot, humid weather. Spring and fall are mild with much variability from day to day. The first freeze is usually in October in the mountains. Winter temperatures average in the 40s during the day and 20s at night. Snow is light, with about 4 to 6 inches each year. Annual average rainfall in this region is over 60 inches. The driest months are September and October. The wettest month is March. Thunderstorms are common in spring and summer.
